Matt Hardy talks about Vince McMahon’s mentality towards the “babyface” – Planet Wrestling

Over the last few weeks there have been many AEW news regarding the talent coming from WWE itself due to the traumatic situation with so many layoffs that are taking place. The main fact comes when one of these explains details of his past in WWE.

Matt Hardy and his relationship with Vince

The AEW fighter Matt Hardy who currently has a stable called HOF wanted to talk about his past in WWE. Despite being the biggest competition, it cannot be denied that the company he was in created the character that now stands out in Tony Khan’s company.

So much so, that Matt himself has wanted to talk about the way of thinking of the WWE boss and owner Vince McMahon. This was how he wanted to explain himself in an interview in the second episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy.

“Well, that was supposed to be our big win and then he said, ‘Well, it’s too predictable,’” Hardy said. “’Everybody in that place will know you’re going to win and they expect you to win, so I don’t want to do that. Let’s do it on the next show. And I think sometimes that’s a good thing, especially when you have babyfaces that are over and have been in this long rivalry, and the fans want to be rewarded with this proper reward.

“I would have loved to have had the win there and I think it would have been the moment to win, and us being the champions and it would have changed the history of TLC matches a little bit as well. But Vince is a big advocate of, ‘if you’ve ended up a babyface, there are times when you don’t need to win, it doesn’t make a difference.’ And that’s how we look at it.”

About the figure of the current champion of AEW Hangman Page and the stories that both have had inside the ring.

“Wrestling fans sometimes just because they’re obsessed with wanting things right away instead of waiting,” Hardy said. “You know, it’s crazy, sometimes it’s very frustrating because they claim to be the smartest fans. But sometimes, in the grand scheme of things, things are done for a purpose, in most cases if you have a good booker. And in this case, it helped Adam get into a competitive match with Matt Hardy, someone well known and established. At the end of the day, it doesn’t hurt to get hit because it hasn’t settled down at all anyway.”
