Coach Juan Pablo Fentanes announced the definitive list of those summoned to the team that will represent Baja California and Northwest Mexico, within the National U17 American Football Championship in Chihuahua City.
All of them, as has been announced, come from the four teams that make up the Northwest Zone in the CONADEIP Single Premier Youth Conference: CETYS Ensenada, CETYS Mexicali, CETYS Tijuana and CBTIS 21.
“The first promise is that we are going to represent Baja California and the entire Northwest with great pride and respect. I can’t tell you that we’re going for a championship, but we’re not just going to participate either. I can tell you that our boys are excited and with their hearts ahead to make history in Chihuahua”, said the coach.
Those selected are:
FOXES ENS.- Víctor Ayala, Isaac Wong, Axel Ventura, Gael Meza, Alejandro Mar, Rodrigo Contreras, Mauricio Silva, Alejandro Segura, Luis Magdaleno, Dereck Rodarte, Diego Ortiz and Gael Loyoza.
FOXES MXL.- Jorge Fontes, Gael Arévalo, Andrev Encinas, Norman Goycolea, Mauricio Millán, Jesús Lechuga, Héctor David Ruiz, Jorge Treviño, Ulises Paredes, Daniel de la Torre, Alejandro Olguín, Gustavo Maciel, Gilberto López, Humberto Payán, Adolfo Ramirez and Abraham Romero.
TIJ FOXES.- Isaac Calderón, Jorge Urzúa, Ricardo García, Jahel Antonio Zamora, Juan Miguel Fontes, Darío González, Carlos Mendoza, Daniel Gastelum, Benjamín García, Máximo Bojórquez, Agustín Escobar and Alan Parra.
BULLS.- Isaac Contreras, Mario Macías and Saúl Miramontes.
“The future of this sport is represented by these guys,” added Fentanes. And as in everything, within the age, they presented an advance if we compare it with the first day of training. The only thing that cannot be trained is the attitude or the heart of each player, because that belongs to them. And when they show it in a play rehearsal, that feeling of pride comes out.”
As for the coaching staff, they will have the support of Hermann Roeniger, Fernando Fontes, Guillermo Ruíz Burguete, Adrián Gallegos, Mauricio Loya, Héctor Navarrete, Paulino Fontes, Alan Márquez and Diego Grosso.
“We have a team of coaches with a lot of experience. I can say that it is a fairly complete, diverse group and we do not play the same as in our respective teams, but the fundamentals do. On that basis, there is an amalgamation of useful plays to reap good results”, concluded the helmsman.
The regional representative will be in the city of Chihuahua from August 16 to 20, measuring himself with other teams in search of winning the great event.
According to Weather.com, a maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius and a high probability of rain are forecast during the tournament.
