Photo: CadenagramonteHavana, Apr 30.- The rosters of the Eastern and Western teams for the Cuban basketball All-Star Games on May 5 and 6 were announced in this capital, with the presence of 12 players in both casts.


Eduardo Moya, technical director of the men’s national team, stated that the performance of the basketball players was mainly taken into account to be chosen.

He added that they also made the choice based on the positions they play and the result of their respective teams in the Superior Basketball League (LSB).

In the eastern group Ciego de Ávila, leader of the LSB in the men’s division with 11 victories without defeats, and the venue for this activity, contributed four athletes, such as the experienced Yoan Luis Haiti, Williams Granda and Yasser Rodríguez, in addition to Louis Castellanos.

Completing the roster are Mario Luis Troyano, Carlos Villegas and Luis Castillo from Santiagueros, Esteban Martínez, Ibrahim Echavarría and Luis Buenos from Santiago; as well as the Guantanamo Yoanis Soria and Alexis Barthelemy, all directed by Jorge García, coach of the Avilanian Buffaloes.

For its part, the western payroll features four players from Capitalinos, including Marcos Chacón, Daniel Simón, Michel Espinoza and Héctor Martinto, who is joined in the direction by the newcomer in that position Reinier Muñiz.
