Bobby Lashley successfully defends the United States Championship on WWE RAW

Bobby Lashley defeated AJ Styles on WWE RAW.

After AJ Styles ended his affairs with The Miz after beating him in a ‘No Disqualification Match’, he got a shot at the United States Championship from Bobby Lashley. Both fighters met with the title at stake for the first time in the recent edition of Monday Night Raw, and the contest saw ‘The All Mitghy’ as the winner, and therefore still champion..

AJ Styles quickly based his offense on various elbows and aerial moves like the Phenomenal Forearm to the outside of the ring. Despite this, he was unable to be effective before the punishment of Bobby Lashley, who rammed him repeatedly against the cornerback. At one point, when Lashley pulled Styles out of the ring, Ciampa appeared to distract the referee and then The Miz to try to attack AJ. Dexter Lumis made a surprise appearance from the sidelines to prevent this ambush, but was stopped by security personnel.

When security members try to remove Dexter Lumis from the enclosure, Bobby Lashley took the opportunity to connect a Spear to The Miz, while Styles took out Ciampa. Styles tried to apply a Calf Crusher until it was reversed into a Hurt Lock, but neither was effective. Finally, AJ failed to apply the Phenomenal Forearm and immediately after it was a Spear victory, with which Lashley retained the title.

Bobby Lashley made his third successful defense in 45 days with the United States Championship. After defeating opponents like Theory, The Miz and now AJ Styles to retain the title, we’ll have to keep an eye out to see who will be the next superstar to try to unseat him.
