Peru life will be played this Thursday against Uruguay dreaming of being able to have a place in the Qatar World Cup 2022. Despite how complicated and expensive the transfer to Montevideo is, many Peruvian fans traveled to the country of the Río de la Plata to see the match and encourage those led by Ricardo Gareca towards the goal.
Before the match, the fans gathered outside the Hilton Garden Inn hotel, where our fans are staying, to perform the traditional ‘flag’, with which they hope to make their encouragement and confidence felt.
After learning about the meeting of the Peruvians, the players agreed to go down for a few minutes to greet them. They shared a pleasant moment and then returned to their rooms to continue their concentration.
The Peruvian National Team had its last training session this Wednesday and was ready to face those led by Diego Alonso this Thursday. The national team would be made up of Pedro Gallese; Luis Advíncula, Carlos Zambrano, Alexander Callens, Miguel Trauco; Renato Tapia, Yoshimar Yotún, Sergio Peña; André Carrillo, Christian Cueva and Gianluca Lapadula.
After the match against Uruguay, Peru will return to the training camp to rest and on Friday morning will take the flight back to Lima to prepare for the match against Paraguay next Tuesday for the last day of the qualifying tournament.
The Peruvian National Team is in fifth place (repechage zone) with 21 points, while Uruguay has 22 units and is in fourth place. For this reason, the duel in Montevideo is vital to decide which team has the most options to qualify directly for Qatar 2022.
