The Tico goalkeeper of PSG of France, Keylor Navas, showed yesterday in San Pedro Sula that he is an idol. The goalkeeper had an emotional moment at the Olympic Stadium when he arrived with the Costa Rican team: the fans surrendered at his feet.
With the humility that characterizes him, Navas raised his arms to respond to the applause of the fans who stood up, as he is the Central American benchmark in Europe. At the end of the game, fans lined up to have a photo taken.
Navas sent an emotional message to the catrachos fans since he felt loved on the Olympic field. “Thank God we achieved another point on the way to the goal. Very grateful for the affection of the people. It is very nice to notice the support even away from home.! Thank you Honduras!”, Was the message that the goalkeeper of the PSG.
At the end of the match, the goalkeeper stopped to sign shirts and take photos even with former players as in the case of Rambo de Leon, former Honduran star who won the Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper’s shirt as an award. Keylor felt sheltered even out of his land.
His night was round, not only because of the support of the catrachos at the Olímpico, but he did it on the pitch making a spectacular cover to a free-kick shot from the Marathon midfielder, Kervin Arriaga, who made him the cover of media in Costa Rica and Honduras.
Navas is the captain of the Costa Rican National Team that, like Honduras, is complicated in the qualifying rounds for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. He will also start this Sunday when they face El Salvador at home on the fifth round of the octagonal.
