The best promise of the Washington Nationals will join the big team. Venezuelan receiver Keibert Ruiz will make his Washington debut this Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies at Nationals Park, the club announced Sunday. Ruiz is ranked the No. 1 prospect of the Nationals and the 19th best prospect. of all baseball on the MLB Pipeline roster.
“We are very excited about his promotion,” exclaimed Puerto Rican driver Dave Martinez. “The boy is part of our future here.”
Ruiz was one of the key players in the mega-trade that sent Max Scherzer and Trea Turner to the Dodgers. Coincidentally, the Valencian will do drums with Josiah Gray, with whom he was traded, in his first game with the uniform of the capital.
Ruiz, 23, made his Big Top debut with the Dodgers last season and saw action in eight games. This month, the Venezuelan has swept the bat for Triple-A Rochester. He hit two-run home runs in consecutive games this month, and hit offensive numbers of .308 / .365 / .577 in 20 games. Ruiz also compiled 24 hits, six doubles, five home runs, 14 RBIs, seven walks and six strikeouts.
