Shelton Benjamin evaluates his present in WWE

A couple of months ago it was confirmed the dissolution of Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander as a teamafter remaining as such for a couple of years, even after the breakup of The Hurt Business, although they were not the same without MVP at the helm. Since then, the veteran has been working regularly on Main Event, and He has been little seen on the main shows, where he has had very few opportunities, despite his talent.

Since returning to WWE in 2008, R-Truth he has played a comedic role, and often competed for the 24/7 Championship, being the wrestler who has won it the most times. He was recently paired with Shelton Benjamin, Teaming up in Main Eventfighting as such last week.

This week in Main Event, Shelton Benjamin participated in a segment with R-Truth. During the segment, the former Intercontinental Champion said that he had already had fun, citing the advice that several veterans had given him regarding him taking things seriously, considering he may never get another big break. During the segment, Benjamin listed some of the titles he has had and before leaving he said: “I used to be the Gold Standard Shelton Benjamin, but now I’m just Shelton”.

A couple of decades ago, Shelton Benjamin enjoyed a promising career in WWE, managing to become Intercontinental Champion, United States Champion and Raw Tag Team Champion. However, his career failed to meet the expectations that many expected considering his talent, and basically now it’s just to develop new talent. However, the recent interactions he has had with R-Truth were interesting, and it remains to be seen if these make it to the main schedule one day, or if the two will simply go their separate ways.
