Buccaneers hit 100% vaccination rate

After Atlanta became the first team to achieve a perfect vaccination rate in mid-August, this Thursday, HC Bruce Arians announced that the Buccaneers also reached that threshold: “We are 100% vaccinated, our entire organization, everyone. the players, all the coaches, everyone, ”said Arians.

This confirmation comes after RB Leonard Fournette, who had previously commented that he was hesitant to get vaccinated, said yesterday that he changed his mind: “It’s something I wanted to do, try to put the team [fuera de] danger. You can still get it, but it is better to have the vaccine. We need all hands here for these next two big games ahead. So whatever happens will happen. I’m just trying to be the best teammate I can be, ”Fournette concluded.

However, heading into the 2021 NFL Season kickoff, the Buccaneers still have three active players in the COVID-19 Reserve: offensive linemen Earl Watford, and Nick Leverett, in addition to defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh. Finally, it can be concluded that the internal regulations implemented by Bruce Arians served to encourage his team to receive the vaccine and to have much more flexibility before the NFL protocols during the regular season.

KJ Wright signs with the Raiders, and the most relevant roster movements

With the 2021 NFL Season just six days away, each team is fine-tuning the final details within their roster to arrive as well prepared as possible. Last Tuesday the final rosters of 53 players from each team were announced, however, free agent signings do not stop and in this space we evaluate the most important ones from yesterday.

LB KJ Wright, one of the best agents available, signed a 1-year deal with the Raiders on Thursday. This move reunites him with DC Gus Bradley, who ran the Seattle defense when Wright entered the league in 2011. Plus, it will be the first time we see Wright in the NFL in a different uniform than the Seahawks. During 10 seasons in Seattle, the North Dakota State graduate accumulated 941 tackles, 13.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, 9 recovered and managed to win Super Bowl XLVIII.

In another interesting move, ESPN.com’s Jordan Raanan reported that the Giants signed center Matt Skura to their practice squad. Skura was recently released by the Dolphins, however he has extensive experience as a starter within the NFL. He started 51 games for the Ravens over the past four seasons and was a key part of the offensive line that helped Lamar Jackson win MVP in the 2019 NFL Season, so it’s probably only a matter of time before he gets called up to the roster of 53 of New York.

Finally let’s review the Jaguars, who this time signed a tight end who is a tight end. After the resounding failure of Tim Tebow, this was one of the weakest positions on Jacksonville’s offense, but this Thursday, after being cut by the Bills, TE Jacob Hollister found a new team, reported Tom Pelissero of NFL Media. Hollister, who had 66 receptions for 558 yards and 6 TDs the past two seasons at Seattle, now must earn a spot in a corps of tight ends that includes Chris Manhertz, James O’Shaughnessy and Luke Farrell.

These are the most relevant movements around the NFL yesterday. What do you think of each of them?

Darius Leonard asks for more information to get vaccinated

In more NFL news related to COVID-19, along with the Bills and Vikings, the Colts are one of the worst vaccinated teams in the league. Clara shows is that in recent weeks, Indianapolis had to put star players like Quenton Nelson and Carson Wentz in the Reserve for COVID-19 as they were considered high-risk contacts. Now, this Thursday, LB Darius Leonard, another star of the team, came out to give his opinion on not being vaccinated:

“I think it’s a personal decision,” said Leonard, through Zak Keefer of TheAthletic.com. “I want to see more. I want to learn more. I want to educate myself more about it. I just have to think about it. I don’t want to rush (…). I am not, as you see on social networks, pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine. I have to learn. When you don’t know about something, you need to learn more about it and make a decision from there. You have to make sure you understand your decision and understand what’s going on in your body, the long-term effects, and the like. I think once you get it, just like a playbookYou can say, ‘Okay, I’m going to put this on my body.’

However, with less than a week before the start of the 2021 NFL Season, it is anyone’s guess what more information Leonard needs to get vaccinated. Throughout the offseason, and up until now, the teams have made medical experts available to players to address any concerns regarding the issue. However, Leonard remains unvaccinated, and the Colts will have to live with the consequences of that decision.

Osa Odighizuwa launches criticism of Tom Brady

DT Osa Odighizuwa, who was a third-round pick for the Cowboys last draft, pointed out at a press conference this Thursday some flaws he finds in Tom Brady, whom he will face in the 2021 NFL Season Kickoff: “It’s not very mobile, ”Odighizuwa said, via Clarence Hill’s Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I mean, you know, he’s been playing for 21 years. The guy is a little older, not too mobile. I’d say that’s probably what it is. “

In addition, Odighizuwa commented that reports from the Cowboys show that Brady’s QB rating drops markedly when the internal pass rusher manages to get him out of the protection bag: “I think they say it goes down by 50 [puntos]Odighizuwa said. However, Brady was only sacked 21 times in 16 games last season.

The UCLA graduate was born in 1998, while Brady began his professional career in 2000, but that does not prevent the two from seeing each other next Thursday, September 9, in the first game of the regular season, and surely, Odighizuwa will try to play as such that Brady never forgets his name. What do you think of these statements?
