NFL announces Dak Prescott and more nominees for 2021 Man of the Year

The NFL announced on Tuesday the 32 nominees for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year 2021. Each player was selected as Man of the Year within their respective team and are now eligible to win the national accolade. Among the nominees, names such as the QB of the Cowboys, Dak Prescott; Buccaneers WR Mike Evans; Titans RB Derrick Henry; among others. NFL announces 32 nominees for 2021 Man of the Year

This Tuesday morning through a statement, the NFL announced the 32 nominees for the award Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, presented by the finance and insurance company Nationwide. Representing the best of the league’s commitment to philanthropy and community impact, each player was selected as Man of the Year within their respective team, and is now eligible to win the national award. The winner will be announced in the NFL Honors the Thursday before Super Bowl LVI.

Considered the league’s most prestigious honor, the award Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year recognizes a league player for outstanding off-field community service activities as well as excellence on the field. First established in 1970, the national award was renamed in 1999 after the death of Hall of Famer and former Chicago Bears running back Walter Peyton.

“The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award is the League’s most prestigious honor and these 32 men represent their many teammates who do incredible things in their communities,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “Their unwavering commitment to their hometowns and team communities embodies Walter’s spirit of giving in a way that makes us all incredibly proud of the work they do every day.”

For the fourth year in a row, the 32 players nominated will be recognized for their important work in the week leading up to Super Bowl LVI. The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year 2021 will be announced during the NFL Honors, a primetime awards special that will air nationally the Thursday before Super Bowl LVI on the network ABC.

The 32 nominees will receive a donation of up to $ 40,000 on their behalf to the charity of their choice. Additionally, the award winner Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year You will receive a donation of $ 250,000 also for the charity of your choice. All donations are courtesy of NFL Foundation and Nationwide.

Additionally, fans are encouraged to participate in the 7th annual charity challenge of Nationwide, a social media campaign designed to support and promote the team’s nominees. Fans can vote via Twitter using the #WPMOYChallenge followed by the last name of their favorite nominee or the username of their respective Twitter account.

The player whose hashtag most used between December 7 and January 17 will receive a contribution of 25,000 to the charity of their choice, while second and third place will receive donations of 10,000 and 5,000 respectively, all courtesy of Nationwide. All 2021 nominees will wear a Man of the Year decal on their respective helmet from Week 14 through the end of the season in recognition of their achievements on and off the field.
