The Astros of the Spanish Valdeolmillos advance to the postseason in Mexico – Basketball – ABC Color

Guadalajara (Mexico), Oct 17 (EFE) .- The Jalisco Astros of Spanish coach Sergio Valdeolmillos beat the champion Fuerza Regia 103-73 this Sunday, thus signing their pass to the postseason in the Mexican Basketball League.

Jalisco, which remained in third place in the west, had American Jordan Loveridge as its best player, who contributed 23 points, five rebounds and three assists, in addition to making five triples in seven attempts.

Those led by Valdeolmillos achieved 40 points in the second quarter, their highest production since its founding in 2019, which marked the way to victory.

The Astros reached the second chapter down 21-19 on the scoreboard, but led by eight units from American Avry Holmes and 19 points from losses from their rivals, they went up 59-30 at halftime.

The Soles de Mexicali are the first place in the west, followed by Querétaro and Jalisco, all three with a guaranteed place in the playoffs that will start on October 26.

In other results on Saturday, the Halcones de Xalapa beat the Dorados de Chihuahua 78-73 and the Suns defeated the Abejas de León of the Spanish Pablo García, 94-85, for the second night in a row.

Chihuahua is the best team in the east, ahead of Fuerza Regia and the Leñadores de Durango.
