Rangers live a nightmare in their palace

ARLINGTON – The Rangers are living the dream at the most luxurious, new and impressive ballpark in Major League Baseball.

But on the field they have suffered a nightmare since the 2020 season opened. And it has little to do with the pandemic; rather, with the poor level of play, management and talent in each of the phases of baseball.

In three seasons since they inaugurated their lavish Globe Life Field in Arlington, the only joys and celebrations have been from other teams, never from the owners of the stadium.

“It’s been a difficult year, of changes, but of a lot of learning,” Rangers general manager Chris Young said. “There are things to do because it is a fact that we have to improve in all aspects“.

This year, the Rangers finished 34-47 (.420) at home, the fourth-worst home win record in club history and the lowest since 2018.

“We finished on a good note, thanks to these two wins, but it’s been an embarrassing season,” said the infielder, charlie culberson. “There are no pretexts. We have a great stadium and great fans. Players have to take certain responsibilities.”
