The NFL returns – El Diario de Coahuila

The 2021 season of the NFThe one that starts today will be the 102nd of the National Football League. The regular season will be 18 games. The 2021 regular season is the first to be eligible for expansion.

The campaign will begin today and will end with Super Bowl LVI, the league’s championship game, at Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, California, taking place on February 13, 2022.

The last time the NFL had activity was on February 7 when Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers managed to win the Super Bowl LV after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, however, after approximately six months of rest, activity finally begins the 2021-2022 season.

The regular season is scheduled to end on January 9, 2022 to make way for the wild card round, which will be played between January 15 and 16 with schedules yet to be defined.

The meetings corresponding to the Divisional Round are scheduled for January 22 and 23 and from these meetings the finalists of each conference will come out, who will play their ticket to the Super Bowl LVI on January 30, 2020.

Notable withdrawals:

LB THOMAS DAVIS.– Three times Pro Bowler and two times All-Pro (a first team, a second team). He played for Carolina, the Los Angeles Chargers and Washington during his 16-year career.

QB PHILIP RIVERS.- Eight-time Pro Bowl game player (a game played by the best players from both conferences against each other) and Return of the Year in 2013. He played for the San Diego / Los Angeles and Indianapolis Chargers during his 17-year career.

QB DREW BREES.- He spent five seasons in San Diego before joining the New Orleans Saints in the summer of 2006. With the Saints he was Super Bowl XLIV champion and became one of the best quarterbacks in history. As of 2021, he is the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards, passes completed, and passing percentage.
