The Galaxy, to recover the lost ground in the double day

LOS ANGELES – Following a home loss to Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, the LA Galaxy will quickly have another chance to seek a favorable result this Wednesday by visiting the Vancouver Whitecaps. In a double-day week, Major League Soccer teams will be active in the middle of the week after the three-week break for FIFA Date.

The adverse home result against Seattle 1-2 ended the Los Angeles home unbeaten streak, leaving LA Galaxy players disappointed, in particular Javier Hernandez.

“I am very disappointed and we all should be, no matter what I say (about the game) because we lost in the end. I think we were the best team, we created opportunities and in two or three stopped balls, one that Bondy saves (Jonathan Bond) they hurt us. The experience will come over time, we all need to grow and improve, ”Chicharito said in the post-match broadcast.

The LA Galaxy remains at the top of the Western Conference table, although it dropped to fourth place after the loss.

“We have to know how to manage the times, we must all improve and know how to manage the games better,” shared Chicharito.

The defense issue continues to be a point to improve for those led by Greg Vanney. Of the eight games played so far, on only two occasions have they kept the goal at zero. Galaxy has scored 12 goals, but received 13.

“There were good moments last game, but to win games against experienced and mature teams like Seattle, you have to play 90 minutes where you don’t put your foot in it yourself, that’s what they do. The goals we conceded were very easy. Going forward, we have to continue creating opportunities and realizing them, we will continue to work on that, ”shared Galaxy coach Greg Vanney.

Goalkeeper Jonathan Bond has been a welcome revelation for the team, as he has had specific interventions that constantly keep them in games, with a 77.6 percent effectiveness after eight games in his first season in MLS.

LA Galaxy is already in Salt Lake City Utah, it should be remembered that Vancouver plays its home games at Rio Tinto Stadium, due to travel restrictions between Canada and the United States that are still in place due to the pandemic.

Vancouver has had a difficult start to the season, coming off losing its last four games to Real Salt Lake, Houston Dynamo, Sporting Kansas City and Minnesota United. The Canadian team is second to last in the Western Conference after 8 games with 7 points after two wins, five losses and a draw so far this season.
