Chiefs will seek to advance to their third consecutive Super Bowl at the expense of Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kansas City Chiefs they met in Week 16 of the regular season at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and will do so again in the Super Wild Card Round, Sunday at 8:15 p.m. ET, leading up to the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.

In said match, the Chiefs crushed the Steelers 36-10 thanks to an excellent performance by Patrick Mahomes and the three turnovers, two fumbles and an interception, generated by the Kansas City defense.

Regrettably, The Chiefs lost running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire to a shoulder injury in that game.. The second-year player did not play the last two games of the regular season to be able to play in the postseason, but he was not ready for the Wild Card.

The good news is that Patrick MahomesChiefs quarterback is 6-0 in the postseason against any quarterback not named Tom Brady. Mahomes has defeated Andrew Luck, Deshaun Watson, Ryan Tannehill, Jimmy Garoppolo, Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen.

What’s more, Arrowhead Stadium is a stronghold for the Chiefs. Andy Reid’s team has allowed 10 or fewer points in its last five home games in the 2021 season.

Nothing to lose

The Steelers qualified for the postseason thanks to a combination of results after finishing the regular season 9-7-1 and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger knows they have nothing to lose against one of the best teams in the AFC.

Roethlisberger could play his last game with the Steelers if they are defeated. Amazingly, ‘Big Ben’ has thrown for more than 450 yards and four or more touchdowns in his last two postseason games.

The Steelers received an unexpected reinforcement in the figure of wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. The wide receiver had been ruled out for the entire season after suffering a shoulder injury, however, he has rehabilitated in the best way and will be ready to face the Chiefs.

Another piece of good news the Steelers received was that running back Najee Harris did not have a serious elbow injury. The Alabama rookie was injured in the first quarter of the game against the Baltimore Ravens.
