“We are a very young team and we had been losing for details”

Miramar hit the hit of this ninth date, beating Lagomar, who until that moment had been first in the standings. One of the triggers that Diego Olivera’s team had from the bench was Leandro García Morandi, with whom Básquet Total went to talk once the game was over.

Leandro’s first thing was a reference to what this point meant after a very negative streak: “It is a very important victory. These consecutive defeats that we had been accumulating for the team were very hard. But despite everything, in the training weeks, the group remained very united and I want to highlight that, because losing six games in a row weighs. But the group stayed together. Today’s victory is essential for the head, to keep us focused on work. We always trust Diego Olivera, Carvidon, the entire coaching staff and all our teammates ”.

After all those defeats were left behind, this is how García Morandi analyzed them: “What marked that losing streak were the details. We are a very young team, we have always been from the start of the championship, we are all under 23. Even the Baldosa (Ottonello), who is our unnamed, is 24 years old. So it may be that the lack of experience at the end of the matches to close them, it may be something that has made a difference with other teams. We were always there, we never lost a game by 30 points, not even with the candidates. We were always there, one detail from closing it. Today we managed to comply with those details, we stayed focused and we succeeded ”.

In addition, last night was a very special game, because Wineglass played knowing that it was already cut and still broke it: “He is a very quiet guy. He doesn’t participate much in the group, but he was always there. He was always on a par with the group, motivating, giving his experience and his grain of sand. That professionalism that he has was shown in each of the training sessions, in each of the games and today he managed to stand out ”.

Finally, García Morandi concluded on how important the coaching staff is in this process: “We have Diego’s confidence at all times, entering from the bank or entering from the beginning. From wherever he is, he keeps us confident and the important thing is to come in to add that grain of sand for the team. The idea is always not to clash ”.
