Federal basketball: Independiente prevailed with authority in Centenario

Already classified for the next instance in the Federal Basketball Tournament, Independiente de Neuquén beat the Centennial Sports Association 88 to 79. The contest shortened its regular phase to be completed, given that it had several interruptions due to the pandemic.

Those led by Marcelo Remolina were superior, dominating the main statistical items on both sides of the field.

The good defensive task of the capital team, added to the scoring of Pablo Almendra (he scored 18 of his 21 points in the initial stage) it served the visit to take advantage of double digits in the first half.

When ADC was looking for the comeback in the complement and reached eight points, one of its scorers, David Fric (18), was sent off by referee Gustavo Carrasco. It was after an interdict after a foul on Paolo Casale, who also received the same sanction.

Lucas Villanueva appeared in the second half with his effectiveness (24) and work on the boards (18 rebounds) to seal the victory for Red. Jeremías Easterling 15 and Emilio Santana 19 also stood out at the venue, who improved in the complement but was not enough to fight for the victory.

These same rivals, who had a record of 7 wins and 6 losses, will play again on Friday at La Caldera and the winner of that match will be the third in the Patagonian division and the one who loses will pass as fourth.
