Chris Duarte and Pacers to open preseason at Madison Square Garden

The Indiana team will start with the preparation games before the regular on October 5

The Dominican’s path in the NBA continues and although the Indiana Pacers have not officially revealed their roster for the preseason, it is expected that Chris Duarte be part of it.

The Pacers will have four official games beginning on October 5 at 7:00 pm, Dominican Republic time, with a visit to Madison Square Garden to face the New York Knicks.

According to reports, one of the teams most interested in winning the services in the 2021 Draft of the Puerto Plata native was the Knicks, an interest that continued after being selected by the Pacers.

Many speculated that with the 19 selection the New Yorkers would like to have selected Duarte, but the Pacers obtained the right by going ahead with their pick in position 13. According to other reports the Golden State Warriors also would have shown interest in taking over the Dominican services.

The Pacers’ preseason schedule continues on the road in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 8 at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse at 7 p.m. in the Dominican Republic.

The next two games, last in the preseason, will be playing at home where they will host the Memphis Grizzlies on October 13 and close again against the Knicks on October 15, both games at 7 pm.

The Indiana Pacers will open the regular season on Wednesday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Spectrum Center to face the Charlotte Hornets, where Chris Duarte is expected to be part of the season’s inaugural roster.

The Dominican had an excellent participation in the Summer League in Las Vegas averaging 18.3 points per game, 4 rebounds and 3.8 assists, standing out for his leadership and excellent defensive vocation. He is currently in his hometown in the Dominican Republic.
