The death of the icon of the sports chronicle of the Dominican Republic was informed by his son through his social networks
It was announced on the morning of this Monday the death of Don Tomás Troncoso Cuesta, one of the most emblematic and charismatic sports writers of the Dominican Republic.
The information was offered on the social network Twitter by his son Tomás Troncoso Jr. “I’m sorry to inform all my friends, sports fans in general, that daddy passed away. How great you were old. We love you very much ”, was what the sports writer also expressed about his father.

Tomás Troncoso was 86 years old and was born on September 29, 1935 in Ciudad Nueva, Santo Domingo, and was part of the first broadcast of a Major League game in the country with the narrator Billy Berroa, Max Alvarez and Ellis Pérez in 1962 .
The program “Sports on the Move“It is an important part of his career in the sports chronicle and has been on the air for more than 50 years, since August 1, 1963 and that same year he began to work in winter baseball with the Aguilas Cibaeñas, although ironically it is considered as one of the glories of his great rivals, the Tigres del Licey, a team with which he spent most of his career in active service and for which he was recognized in 2016, naming the radio booth of the blue team in his honor.
