The officials of the New York Yankees believe that the mediocre year 2021 of the versatile veteran DJ LeMahieu it could be attributed to a sports hernia that the same infielder tried to play before finally having surgery after the season.
A healthy LeMahieu who could return to his 2019-20 form would be a boon to the Bronx Bombers as they continue to figure out their infield image, as LeMahieu’s position next season is still up in the air:
Assuming New York acquires a regular shortstop, LeMahieu appears poised to alternate between third, second and first base, with Gleyber Torres set for regular duty at the cornerstone and Colombian Gio Urshela and Luke Voit in at least one part-time service at corner locations.
