Albert Pujols on Yadier Molina: ‘I love him like my little brother’

Albert Pujols’ reunion tour with the St. Louis Cardinals was a real success, as the veteran Now with the Los Angeles Dodgers leaving cheered by his former fans on his first turn at bat, where he had a meeting withwith his soulmate, the Puerto Rican catcher Yadier Molina, with whom he even had time to joke at first base when the Puerto Rican reached base.

Without a doubt one of the most anticipated meetings of the entire season, the camaraderie and brotherhood that Pujols and Molina share goes beyond the field of play, he also told Corey Miller of NBC Sports.

At the end of the day, our relationship goes beyond what I and Yadi achieve together on the pitch. Yadi is like my little brother. Ours is something incredible that no one can ever take away from us.

The truth is that as Pujols says, his thing goes beyond the field of play and even the possibility that the Machine will return to San Luis by 2022, the year in which Yadier Molina will officially retire from the Major Leagues, already sounds.

I started as a rookie on Al Bat in early 2018 and am going for my third season covering Major League Baseball as a web reporter. I am a fan of the San Francisco Giants, a number one defender of Barry Bonds and a critic of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto and Ronald Acuña are the future of baseball, Mike Trout is overrated, and the Astros deserved to be taken away from the World Series for cheating. Besides baseball, I also enjoy soccer, football, basketball, and just about any other game that includes a ball or a ball. I am also an amateur musician, penniless gamer and very nerdy. Graduated in journalism from the University of Guadalajara, I graduated in 2017. Born in the shrimp capital of the world, Escuinapa, Sinaloa. I lived in Australia for a while; i survived giant spiders, tasmanian devils, and fought a kangaroo and didn’t die trying.
