Pete Alonso breaks home run record with Mets

The New York Mets were completely out of the playoffs in 2021 despite spending so much time leading the NL East division, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been good things happening with the team’s players, mainly Pete Alonso. , who reached a historical record.

By hitting his 36th and 37th home runs of the season Thursday in the Mets’ 12-3 win over the Marlins, Pete Alonso became one of five Queens team members with more than one season with that many home runs.

Darryl Strawberry (three 37-homer or longer seasons), Mike Piazza, Dave Kingman and Puerto Rican Carlos Delgado (two each) are the other Mets who have done it.

Alonso hit .259 / .339 / .516 with the aforementioned 37 homers, 92 RBIs and a WAR of 4.1.

I am a fan of the San Francisco Giants, a number one defender of Barry Bonds and a critic of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto and Ronald Acuña are the future of baseball, Mike Trout is overrated, and the Astros deserved to be taken away from the World Series for cheating. Besides baseball, I also enjoy soccer, football, basketball, and just about any other game that includes a ball or a ball. I am also an amateur musician, penniless gamer and very nerdy.
