The Philadelphia Eagles continue their streak and are now the most feared team, after week 6 of the NFL

The Philadelphia Eagles, the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys have shown the muscle of the Eastern division of the National Conference (NFC), the most competitive until week six of the

2022 NFL season.

The common denominator in the power of these teams has been the strength of their defenses. Thanks to them the Eagles, with a record of 6-0; the Giants, 5-1; and the Cowboys, 4-2, are three of the four best teams among the 16 that make up the NFC.

Philadelphia is the only unbeaten team left in the league. and has exhibited a different face than the one he left in 2021.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni rebuilt a defense that was 10th last year and 18th in receiving points per game at 22.6; for one that today is the sixth best, as well as the six that allow the fewest points per game, with 17.5.

His main virtue is the pressure on rival quarterbacks; Haason Reddick has 4.5 sacks on the season, Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox each have three.

Without forgetting the good work of the secondary defense, in which Darius Slay and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson have shone, with three interceptions each, they share the second place in the league in stolen shipments, followed by teammate James Bradberry with two.

Philadelphia is the team that steals the most balls; boasts nine interceptions and five fumble recoveries. Numbers that combined with the efficiency of their offense led by Jalen Hurts have them as the best in the NFL until week six.

The Eagles are chased by the New York Giants with a record of five wins and one lossa team that had a disastrous season in 2021 with a record of four wins and 13 losses.

Giants coach Brian Daboll, who arrived last January to replace Joe Judge, strengthened New York’s weak line that hasn’t made the playoffs since 2016.

The Giants went from being the league’s 23rd-ranked defense in receiving points in 2021, with 24.5 per game, to eighth in 2022 with an average of 18.8 points allowed.

The improvement included that the New York team is now the team that has caused the most fumbles, accumulating seven in six games; same amount it caused throughout the 2021 season.

No less creditable is the record of four wins and two losses of the Dallas Cowboyseven though Dak Prescott, their starting quarterback, was injured in week one of their 19-3 loss to the Buccaneers.

The strength of those led by coach Mike McCarthy, like their division rivals, is in their defensive team, the fourth that receives the fewest points per game, 16.3, and the eighth that provokes the most exchanges; five interceptions and two fumbles.

The aggressive pressure on rival quarterbacks is led by Micah Parsons, Dallas’ leader with six sacks, along with Dorance Armstrong, who has five, as well as DeMarcus Lawrence and Dante Fowler with three each.

For week seven, Dak Prescott is expected to return to the starting lineup in the Cowboys’ attack after the good work done by his backup Cooper Rush, who in the five games he started had four wins and one loss.
