I have never received an ultimatum and I understand that, when it is communicated to me, I let it be known that, even so, I accepted the last proposal of the club. It was late, but I don’t hold any kind of grudge, “said Ramos who, at all times, insisted that the only difference between club and player was the duration of the contract and that the option to sign did not even exist for one season extendable to another for games played.
Ramos wanted to make it clear that he wanted to tell “his truth” to end the speculation but said that his relationship with Florentino Pérez is “extraordinary” and that he will not make statements against him. In fact, the center-back went so far as to admit that, as “no player should be above the entity,” he asked the president for the club to continue sporting planning for next year without him.
