MLB: Trevor Story could end up signing in Texas with Rangers or Astros

Is everything lining up for the arrival from Trevor Story to his native state of Texas? In a writing in The Athletic (subscription required), MLB Network contributor Ken Rosenthal, said the Rangers have a “decent chance” of acquiring to Story, who grew up in Irving, Texas, located 15 miles from Globe Life Park.

According to Rosenthal, the Rangers hope to have a “wide net” of fishing in the free market and Corey Seager, Puerto Rican Carlos Correa and Marcus Semien could also be in the bid for shortstop. But Story might be the least expensive option.

If the Rangers go for Story, they could find themselves in competition in the same state, with the Astros looking for a potential replacement for Correa.

Ken Davidoff of the New York Post and Anthony Franco of MLB Trade Rumors hope that Story will finish with the Astros, while Steve Adams, also of MLB Trade Rumors, predicts that the shortstop will sign with the Rangers.

I started as a rookie on Al Bat in early 2018 and I am going into my third season covering Major League Baseball as a web reporter. I am a fan of the San Francisco Giants, a number one defender of Barry Bonds and a critic of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto and Ronald Acuña are the future of baseball, Mike Trout is overrated, and the Astros deserved to be taken away from the World Series for cheating. Besides baseball, I also enjoy soccer, football, basketball, and just about any other game that includes a ball or a ball. I am also an amateur musician, penniless gamer and very nerdy.
