MLB: Everyone to rest! Marlins rookie connects his first Walk-Off HR and leaves Mets scattered on the field

the catcher rookie Nick Fortes hit a walk-off home run (first of his career) against veteran right-handed reliever Adam Ottavino in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Miami Marlins a scream victory by a 3-2 scoreline over the New York Mets on Sunday afternoon at loanDepot Park.

A play after second baseman Luis Guillorme stole a hit from fellow Venezuelan Jesús Aguilar, Fortes he lit a slider on a count of 0-1 already with two outs on the board. The final victory closed a streak of seven games in a span of 10 days between these clubs, with Miami winning two of seven:

Nicholas Fortes, 25 years old and 1.80 meters tall, was 0-3 with a strikeout and a left on base, so he came with the label of ‘getting the thorn out’ to that final key turn in which he left watered in the field to the Metropolitans, leaders of the East of the National.

It should be noted that Fortes, who just debuted in GL on September 18, can be said to have “been a prophet in his land”, since he is a native of DeLand, Florida, very close to Miami Beach, so he is a home boy. On the season he is batting .289 with three home runs and seven RBIs in 13 games and 38 at-bats.

I am a fan of the King of Sports, especially the Boston Red Sox in MLB and all Mexican baseball in general. This profession has given me the opportunity to cover major events such as the Caribbean Series, LMB All Star, LMP (uninterruptedly since 2009), signatures of important players. I had the chance to attend the 2013 World Classic in Arizona, USA, although as a fan. Apart from this beautiful sport, I love basketball, where I have also narrated games and even an NBA friendly 10 years ago, but I have baseball in my veins. Degree in Communication Sciences from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) , from which I graduated in 2011. I was born in Mazatlán, Sinaloa and started in the world of sports journalism in 2004 in the newspaper El Sol de Mazatlán, where I was a baseball columnist and a reporter at the same time. In January 2009 I arrived at El Debate as a journalist reporter and it was almost six years (in the first stage), until in November 2014 I emigrated to the radio providing my services at Línea Directa-Grupo RSN. My cycle there ended in July 2019 and a few days later, El Debate gave me another opportunity to work and opened the doors for me again. This is how I came to Al Bat, where I have been since 2019 as a web journalist.
