The start of the 2022 season of the Big leagues is getting closer and therefore the teams have had to make adjustments to their roster. Such is the case of Cincinnati RedsWho made cuts and sent players to minor leagues (MiLB). One of the ‘sacrifices’ is a Mexican.
Various media announced that the Cincinnati Reds made cuts to their Major League Baseball (MLB) roster to adjust their places for the start of the 2022 campaign.
The Reds sent 12 players who were in Spring Training to their Minor League branches. One of them is Alejo López, the Mexican infielder.
The other players who were “downgraded” to the Minors are catchers Mark Kolozsvary, Chris Okey and Chuckie Robinson; infielders Miguel Hernández and Matt McLain; outfielders Trey Amburgey and Ronnie Dawson; pitching prospect Brandon Williamson; as well as relievers Zack Godley, Joel Kuhnel and Connor Overton.
According to reports, these players would still have the opportunity to be part of the Cincinnati team during the upcoming Major League campaign, that is, the recent decline does not mean that everything is lost for them.
The Cincinnati Reds currently have 50 active players in Spring Training that continues its course. By the end of Training they will have to have their camp and their price roster at the start of MLB 2022 at 28.
