A tweet by the Venezuelan journalist Richard Méndez opens the debate on whether the baseball He has stoped to be the most popular sport in Venezuela?
I’m going with an unpopular tweet. Yesterday professional soccer in Caracas got almost three times more public than baseball and in both cases it was the Classic.

Answers, opinions and data
The responses, opinions and data to Richard Méndez’s tweet were varied:
Subject to analyze .. Your inf. It is correct, but in my opinion it is NOT a thermometer to measure fanaticism. Yesterday for example, I did not go to the stadium, but my house was filled with friends watching the Ccs vs Mag.⚾️📺🍻 The same on WathsApp and in my edf. Today I FIND OUT that Ccs vs Táchira also played

It was a final, therefore it is not a comparison, the soccer fans are like crazy saying that now soccer is the national sport because of a simple game, but they do not remember that in the hexagonal the 2 teams faced each other in Caracas and the attendance was less q that of Caracas Magallanes ..

by the way today a simple regular season game between Leones del Caracas and Cardenales de Lara in Barquisimeto is getting more than 10,000 people, something unthinkable in a regular season game in Futve, in a city other than San Cristóbal

By the way in the game caribes eagles are getting almost the same amount of people as the game of the final of futve and it is regular season

Are you really comparing that? A regular season game against a final? And what else in the soccer final was there a restriction on the amount of fans allowed? Only 40% can enter baseball.

My unpopular opinion is that today baseball is not the first sport in Venezuela, it is only “popular” in some specific geographic areas.
There are more children practicing soccer than baseball.
