Cuban prospect among the most anticipated debuts for 2023 in the Major Leagues

The lockout in the Major Leagues continues and many are already wondering how much it could affect the start of the 2022 season since the start of training for each of the organizations was scheduled for next February.

While all this uncertainty continues, the information does not stop for a second and recently the debuts of the most anticipated Latino prospects were announced with a view to the start of the next season.

Undoubtedly the most anticipated is that of the Dominican, belonging to the Seattle Mariners, Julio Rodríguez, who was one of the main pillars of the quisqueya team in the last Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games to access the awards podium.

Julio, who is the # 1 prospect of the organization and the # 2 of all the Major Leagues, left a great performance last season between class A + and AA with an offensive average of .347, 13 homers, 47 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, while his line was (.441 OBP / .560 SLU / 1.001 OPS) in the 74 games he was present.

For his part, the Cuban appears on this list. Yoelqui Cespedes who has become the # 2 prospect of the Chicago White Sox a year after entering the organization.

Céspedes, who left the Cuban national team in Dayton, during the Cuba team’s participation in the Can-Am League in 2019, participated in 72 games during 2021 in Minor Leagues in which he managed to tow 27 teammates, in addition to shooting 30 extra-base hits with an offensive average of .285.

The native of Yara in the province of Granma also participated in the Future Stars Game in 2021 with his compatriot from the Houston Astros Pedro León.

The younger brother of La Power has great conditions as he is considered an above-average hitter, his speed on the bases is extraordinary as evidenced by his 18 stolen bases in the Minor Leagues and his arm is recognized for the extraordinary power he possesses.

Céspedes Maceo before reaching Las Mayores with the White Sox will have to make a stay for Triple-A where he will have to demonstrate that he is capable of assuming great responsibilities in the team such as his compatriots Yoan Moncada, Luís Robert, Yasmani Grandal and José Abreu.
