There is no pitcher who generates more buzz on Yankees farms than Luis Gil, who already showed part of his quality in his first outings with the big team. The team’s No. 4 prospect finished with six starts, a 3.07 ERA and a 1-1 record.

Deivi Garcia is another high-quality right-hander, ranking as the organization’s 11th prospect. He has eight major league starts without much luck so far in his presentations, going 3-4 with a 5.27 ERA.

One player who is perhaps a step further back courtesy of his youth is Luis Medina, the Yankees’ eighth prospect. With the Somerset Patriots in AA he was 4-3 along with a 3.67 ERA in 14 starts.

Similar to Garcia’s case, Schmidt has already had some trials in the majors suffering from his inexperience. The team’s No. 5 prospect has a total of 12 innings pitched with a 6.39 ERA and a 0-1 record.

Among the players who seem ready to make the leap to the big team, Cabrera is one of those who has shown the best recently. He established himself in the minor leagues as the 16th prospect for the Yankees with a .272 average, 29 home runs and 89 RBIs in 118 games.
