On Tuesday’s matchday in the Major League Baseball postseason, the Houston Astros came back and beat the Boston Red Sox 9 × 2 to tie the American League Championship Series to two victories per side. In the important sidereal triumph, Yulieski Gurriel and Yordan alvarez They contributed to the cause of their club and even the first of them made history among Cubans and in general in the best baseball in the world.
First, Gurriel went 4-1, with an infield hit, a run scored and an intentional walk (.429). It was his fifth game in a row with at least one hit, but more importantly, he reached 23 lifetime hits in the championship series, a mark with which he equaled Yasiel Puig for first place among Cuban players. With one more, he will be the highest jiter among Antilleans in that instance.
To make matters worse, Gurriel is now one of 36 hitters with at least 60 career hits in the postseason. To give you an idea of how immense this feat is, there have been more than 22,500 players in the history of Major League Baseball; of that enormous amount, the Cuban legend is part of the 0.001 percent that has totaled at least 60 hits in the playoffs for life. Imagine!
In his five-game hitting streak with at least one hit, Gurriel has eight hits in 19 legal at-bats at the club (.421), with one home run, three RBIs and an equal number of laps.
Teammate Alvarez doubled in four valid chances and drove in (2) the Astros’ seventh score in the engagement, in what was a cluster of seven streaks in the ninth inning. Yordan also scored and walked to his account (.357).
For the Astros, Aledmys Diaz he was also in play, but struck out on his only offensive turn (.000).

The series will resume this Wednesday afternoon (5:08 pm ET) with a duel of left-handed starters: Framber Valdez will have the ball for Houston, while Chris Sale will ride on the mound in what will be the last game of the season. series at Fenway Park, Boston.
In the early hours, the Los Angeles Dodgers also rallied to beat the Atlanta Braves 6 × 5 and leave the National League Championship Series 2-1 in favor of Atlanta. Guillermo Heredia was on the bench. Today they will collide again, at 8:08 pm ET at Dodger Stadium.
