The Miami Marlins have given you the news that every prospect I would like to hear from a young pitcher, when informing that they raised the Dominican pitcher Edward Cabrera (No. 30 prospect of the entire organization), who will make his major league debut on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals.
The Dominican has posted a 2.93 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP in 13 starts at three Minor League levels in 2021, after recovering from a right bicep nerve inflammation and that is how he was told that he would be promoted to the Major Leagues for first time in his young career
Cabrera, 23, came to Spring Training with the injury, which forced him to be out of action until June 6. In six outings for Triple-A Jacksonville, Cabrera struck out 48 batters in 29.1 innings, striking out at least 11 in three of those appearances. His last start was last Thursday against Durham.
According to MLB Pipeline, Cabrera’s best tool is a fastball that’s between 93 and 97 miles per hour and sometimes hits 100 mph.
