MLB: Reasons that suggest that the Yankees will have a 2022 of ‘prominence and resurrection’

Although we still have to wait for the winter market to resume and see what will happen to the available free agents, the Yankees have made it clear that they will go for some pieces that they need to reinforce a squad urged to reign in the Big leagues.

With all this and that additions are still missing as reinforcements, a season of resurrection in New York, because in their squad they have some high-level elements that suggest that in 2022 they could be protagonists again not only during the regular role, but also in the postseason, if they achieve their pass to that instance. Here are some reasons that suggest that the Bombers will resurface and they will fight in their Division and in the American League in general:

1. Luis Severino fully recovered and included in the openers deck

Severino was activated during the close of last season after missing more than a year recovering from Tommy John surgery. He managed to pitch six innings in the regular role and finished with no earned runs received. In 2022, the Dominican is expected to be one of the five Yankees starters.

2. Aaron Judge has finally been left alone with injuries

After struggling the past few seasons playing little due to injury issues, Judge Aaron Judge appears to be one hundred percent healthy. Last tournament he only missed 14 games, some by rest and finished with the best batting average of his career (.287), in addition to that in the home run line he recovered after going to the street 39 times.

3. DJ LeMahieu one hundred percent healthy and eager to return to his best level

After being the Champion Bat in 2020, DJ LeMahieu had one of his worst seasons on offense last year. Injuries were a key factor in the veteran infielder’s crash. However, by 2022 he is expected to regain his best form.

4. Return of Gleyber Torres to his natural position, second base

After a failed attempt to become a shortstop, manager Aaron Boone and the board finally realized that Venezuelan Gleyber Torres had to be traded back to second base, his natural position. This will benefit the team as they are now looking for a new shortstop. Among those available in free agency are the coveted: Carlos Correa and Trevor Story, both candidates to land in the Big Apple to fill that gap.
