CONFIRMED: Industrial Manager REFUSED to play the Antillana de Acero

In an act of media justice, so to speak, the Provincial Directorate of Sports in Havana, together with the high command of the Industriales team, offered a press conference to clarify various issues that for some time had been discussed “by the left ”.

The already known preselection of the Lions also transcended the explanation offered by those in charge of leading the conclave regarding the non-participation of Industriales in the traditional Antillean Steel Cup, which is about to begin.

Guillermo Carmona, who remains as the manager of the capital team, said that such determination responds to the fact that, this time, because it was an atypical year, and the low quality of the teams that will be presented, they preferred to run into stronger teams before the start of the National Series, in search of greater preparation, according to journalist Boris Luis Cabrera on his Facebook profile.

Due to the incidence of Covid-19 in Cuba, the version of the Antillean Steel Cup corresponding to the year 2020 had to be suspended. Although the contenders in the resumption of the fair are unknown, by technical decision, the Blues will be absent in the appointment, for the first time in several years.

Without significant media coverage, these types of tournaments have generally been considered as the preseason of the National Series, especially for teams from the West of the country and, occasionally, beyond the center of the island.
