WWE wants to bring back the retro concept for Monday Night Raw

Wwe has brought back several old concepts in recent years and, especially, in recent months, with the return of King of The Ring or the broadcast of special episodes with a retro air, as happened at the beginning of the year on Monday Night Raw with the episode “Raw Legends Night“.

As reported by Andrew Zarian, from the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, WWE will bring back the idea of Retro RAW in January 2022. An exact date was not revealed, although the company would repeat the tactic it used in early 2021 as well. “From the source: Retro Raw will return in January,” Zarian wrote on Twitter.

No details have been given regarding the ideas that the WWE leadership has in mind, although it is likely that WWE uses legends like those who appeared in the last special. In January, the company had guests such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Falir, Torrie Wilson, Tatanka, Sgt. Slaughter, among others. Other idea It would be doing something similar that was done on SmackDown held in May with a retro setting, where he went back in time with a special set in older times.

In June we reported that WWE intended to host a host of ‘themed’ events through the end of the year, like King of the ring, Raw old school or even an event like Cyber sunday, where viewers can change the billboard of the show and add special stipulations to the matches. The King of The Ring tournament is already taking place today, so the return of Cyber Sunday could become a reality in the coming months.
