WWE SmackDown April 15, 2022: coverage and results

RK-Bro This week’s broadcasts open. After remembering what happened last Monday on RAW, Randy Orton and Riddle call the ring to The Uses. The SmackDown Tag Team Champions enter the scene and claim to be the best tag team in WWE history. Orton confirms that RK-Bro accept the challenge of unification before Jimmy and Jey attack Riddle by surprise.


– Rhea Ripley defeats Naomi. Rhea dominates at first, but “The Glow” manages to take her out of the ring with a kick. Ripley surprises with a Clothesline before the commercial break. Naomi lands a jump on her rival, but is quickly countered. Rhea takes height and applies a Missile Dropkick. The champion tries to entangle her opponent, but she responds with her Riptide for victory.

We review the rivalry between mad cap moss Y Happy Corbin. The latter gives statements backstage and makes fun of a possible individual crusade of his former partner.


Drew Gulak returns to WWE as an interviewer. Madcap Moss walks past him and makes it clear that tonight will be the start of his career with the company.


– Madcap Moss defeats Humberto. Humberto manages to gain some ground and locks his opponent in a neck brace. Moss counters with a Powerslam and accidentally hits Gulak in the corner. Moss’s neckbreaker for his first win away from Corbin.

It is announced the Tag Team Championship unification match between RK-Bro and The Usos for WrestleMania Backlash 2022.


Drew Gulak introduces Charlotte Flair in the ring. “The Queen” makes it clear to Drew that he never wanted to turn down Ronda Rousey’s challenge, but that her goal was to protect her from another landslide victory. Charlotte humiliates the interviewer when he brings up the memory of her surrender at WrestleMania. Gulak suffers a Figure Eight and is assisted by several referees.


– Drew McIntyre defeats Sami Zayn for disqualification. Sami leaves the ring, but is quickly cornered by his rival. Drew takes several hits to the head before cornering Zayn for a Suplex. Sami comes back out of the audience area and receives the count of ten for Drew’s victory.

Adam Pearce finds Sami Zayn in the halls of the arena. As a result of what happened in the ring, the authority confirms a Lumberjack match between Zayn and McIntyre for next week.


– Ricochet defeats Jinder Mahal and retains the Intercontinental Championship. The Indian briefly dominates in the opening moments, but is neutralized with a ReCoil before Shanky takes him to ringside. Ricochet jumps over both of them and takes out Mahal for a Shooting Star Press for the win.

After being interviewed backstage, the team of Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Buthc carry out an ambush against The New Day.

A new promotion is presented Lacey Evans heading for his return to action. Natalie complains respectfully to Shayna Baszler backstage, but begins to contain her anger when Rachel Rodriguez appears before her.

It is announced Madcap Moss vs. Angel of Los Lotharios for next week.

– Riddle defeats Jimmy Uso in the main event. Riddle tries an RKO in the first instance, but Jimmy is scared away to ringside. The two men trade attacks until Uso throws his rival into the barricades. Jimmy finds himself in danger after the commercial break. Jey and Orton exchange blows at ringside, distracting the SmackDown Champion who ends up receiving an RKO in the center of the ring. Riddle takes the win to close out SmackDown with RK-Bro triumphant.
