Zelina Vega made history twice in Saudi Arabia. The fighter became one of the few able to fight in a country that oppresses women with a radical interpretation of Islam, and was also proclaimed the first winner of the Queen’s Crown Tournament. This made him congratulate the WWE boss himself, Vince McMahon.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated the fighter explained how she lived that moment:
Vince came up to me after the match, and told me that he had come in like a queen and that he was now an officer. That Code Red it was not one more movement of the combat. It was a tribute to my cousin Amazing Red and to my entire family. My cousin deserves all the respect and recognition, and that is how I dedicated him to my father as well and to the rest of my family.
