Rhea Ripley could be Bianca Belair’s next rival

last night at the RAW program, after losing the Women’s Tag Team Championship match against Sasha Banks and Naomi, Rhea Ripley betrayed and attacked her partner by performing a heel turn that had been rumored for several weeks. According to Dave Meltzer, renowned journalist for Wrestling Observer, WWE would be preparing an imminent confrontation between Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley, and that is why they decided to put her on the side of the villains of the RAW brand. These were Meltzer’s words:

“With Ripley, the fact that she’s heel makes sense now because Bianca Belair is a babyface. She has a possible opponent, which is Becky Lynch, but they don’t want to do that again directly.

That’s why he’s in the story with Sonya Deville right now. If you notice, the thing with Sonya Deville was supposed to happen at Pay Per View, but they brought it up a few weeks to be made on television next week. So maybe that’s so to move Rhea Ripley into that position sooner. But, Rhea Ripley, right now, because of Bianca Belair and all that, she should be heel right now.”

For the last few weeks, Bianca Belair has been involved in a story with Sonya Deville that will lead next week in a fight for the RAW Women’s Championship. Rhea Ripley, for her part, has had several opportunities together with Liv Morgan for the Tag Team Championships, however, they have been defeated in all the matches, and Ripley unloaded her frustration last night with her former partner.

To this day, beyond Meltzer’s statements, it is unknown if Ripley will go directly to occupy the position of contender for Bianca Belair’s Women’s Title ahead of WrestleMania Backlash, but it is assumed that Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley will have a fight soon where they settle their differences.

Apart from that, in recent weeks, several rumors suggested that Rhea Ripley could occupy a position within the new Edge group. This turn to heel on the last RAW show would bring him closer to it, and Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix commented on Ripley’s attack on Liv Morgan via tweet. Similarly, Phoenix has been showing her dissatisfaction with her husband’s new attitude for several weeks since she attacked AJ Styles.
