Randy Orton talks about his friendship with Riddle outside of WWE – Wrestling Planet

during the last few weeks WWE news wanted to highlight the relevance and the role that the team made up of WWE wrestler Randy Orton Y WWE wrestler Riddle who have been the face of one of the most important brands in the entire company.

Randy Orton and his history with Riddle

Randy Orton spoke with Ariel Helwani this week to discuss his real-life friendship with Matt Riddle and how it has evolved over the course of a few years. The way in which a fighter of Randy’s importance with his experience and the arrival from the lower brands to the main roster by Riddle.

“He’s a lovable guy in real life. It’s so funny because at first I hated it to death,” Orton laughed. He was very disrespectful. He never came to say hello.”

“For two years, I was with this guy. I never went out of my way to say hello to him, but I would see him, and you know, the guys would come say hello to him. His whole goal was to get to WWE and be on the main roster and make a lot of money for himself and the company.”

“That should be the point of working with all these guys and being more conventional than what NXT can provide. So I think you’d show up at work and introduce yourself, ‘Hello, Matt Riddle. Hopefully we can work together one day. I’m not the biggest fan of wrestling, but I’ve done a lot of this, and now I see how great wrestling is. I’m trying to catch up. I am 35 years old and I want to do this. There were none of those jokes. He was alone, headphones on, eyes glazed over,” Orton said.

“I went through Miami about two years after he was in NXT. We were on RAW. For the first time, I said, ‘To hell with this. I am going to introduce myself. I went up to him and said, ‘Oh, there it is.’ He looks at me, does that (nods his head) and leaves. But that’s him. I’ll text him now and he won’t reply, but it’s just him.”

“We started working together. I started to see him interact with other people. He’s being smug with those guys, but that’s weird because they’re close, so it’s just him. There are guys like that. Dean Ambrose was like that. Like, who is that guy, and then you find out he’s a super weird guy. With Riddle, what you see is what you get.”

“Once I drop the wall, him and I, you don’t have many friends in this business, but I consider him a friend. We have a lot in common, which is really funny because the whole thing on TV is that we have nothing in common and we’re very different, but in real life, we have a lot in common,” Orton shared.

“When I’m in the ring and the red light is on, I feel his energy and people feel it. It’s a rare thing you have. It has something special. He is much smarter than he lets on. He’s a smart guy.”

“I think he’s lucky to have me there with him. I’m giving you the problem. I think I’m even luckier to have Riddle with me. I’m having a lot of fun out there. I’m smiling. I’m having a good time with this babyface race. I think that is directly related to him.”

Orton continued: “There are many reasons. He’s always in a good mood. That’s good for me. If I’m close to negativity, you’re going to suck me off with you. I match the energy. Riddle has the energy. He gives it 110%”.

“Your facials are amazing. When he gets excited, you don’t have to tell him I need you to be really excited here, or you really need the fans to see this or that. He instinctively knows a lot of things that a lot of guys who are new or who are greener than others usually don’t have those instincts, and some of them never will, but he does. I couldn’t say enough good things about Riddle, but he definitely wasn’t a fan at first.”
