Dolph Ziggler will equal a record in WWE Royal Rumble 2022

This Saturday is celebrated Royal Rumble. Little by little the participants have been announced and this Monday it was confirmed that Dolph Ziggler will be part of the men’s Royal Rumble. The interesting thing is that, with this participation, Ziggler will equal a historical record.

We are talking about the number of consecutive appearances and that is It will be the 15th consecutive Royal Rumble in which he participates, equaling Kane’s record with this. The Show Off made its first appearance in 2009, where it was quickly eliminated by Kane when he shook hands to introduce himself. Since then, he has participated in every Royal Rumble battle royal, counting the Greatest Royal Rumble that took place in 2018.

This record has been held by Kane for years. Despite having participated in the years 1996 as Isaac Yakem and 1997 as the false Diesel, it was in 1999 when his streak of consecutive appearances began. He stood out in his participation in the 2001 edition, when he set the record for the most eliminated wrestlers with 11. But it all ended in the 2012 edition, in which he did not participate. However, he has continued to appear and currently holds the record for the most appearances with 20 (18 as Kane, 1 as Diesel, and 1 as Isaac Yakem).

Another fighter who could have matched this record is Kofi Kingston, who curiously, also appeared for the first time in 2009. However, he did not participate in the 2021 edition, having broken his consecutive participations, since he suffered a jaw injury in December that left him out of the ring until February.
