Xelajú MC confirms Irving Rubirosa, the fifth Mexican coach in Guatemala

The replacement for Antonio Morales was champion of Ascenso MX in the 2017 Apertura Tournament

QUETZALTENANGO – The Board of Directors of Xelajú MC confirmed the mexican Irving Rubirosa as the new technical director of the team for the remainder of the 2021 Apertura Tournament. He comes to replace the Guatemalan Antonio Morales placeholder image, who directed for 14 days.

Rubirosa is the fifth Mexican coach in the Guatemalan National Soccer League along with Roberto Montoya (Antigua GFC), Raúl Arias (Achuapa), Roberto Hernández (Malacateco) and Daniel Guzmán (Guastatoya).

In the coaching staff, he will be accompanied by his compatriot Luis Alberto Padilla. It comes from Coyotes Tlaxcala, in the Expansion League, from where he was discharged last May.

Rubirosa Serrano started as a coach in the 2016 Clausura Tournament in command of the Cancun pioneers, in the Mexican Second Division, after having been its sports director. In 2017, he rose through the ranks to lead Alebrijes de Oaxaca, where he achieved the title of Ascenso MX. He also directed Coffee growers of Tapachula.

It will be his first experience abroad and he will meet the Mexican footballer Javier ‘el Chuletita’ Orozco, of the main figures of the four Super Goat.

Xelajú MC is located in the sixth box with 19 points, adds six consecutive games without knowing the victory and next weekend the champion will be measured Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa, at the Mario Camposeco stadium, in Quetzaltenango.
