Why will Mexico pay its sanction in qualifying for screaming in Pre-Olympic?

Mexico will play duels against Canada and Jamaica behind closed doors, due to bad behavior in the stands during the Pre-Olympic

FIFA confirmed that the sanction of two games without an audience to the Mexican Soccer Federation must be settled in the following two official home matches that Mexico has, at the start of the tie heading to Qatar 2022 against Jamaica Y Canada, despite the fact that the fine arose in a match of the Olympic Tricolor.

“The sanction refers to the next two official home matches to be played by a representative of the Mexican Football Federation independent of the category,” FIFA confirmed to ESPN Digital.

The Mexican National Team directed by Gerardo Martino must pay the penalty that arose in the Concacaf Pre-Olympic Because the FIFA Disciplinary Code clarifies that the sanction is for the Federation to which the representative corresponds, regardless of the category.

“If one or more followers of a federation or club adopt the conduct described in section 1 (violates the dignity or integrity of a country, a person or a group of people), the following disciplinary measures may be imposed in the federation” , it reads in the regulations of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

The next two home games for Mexico will be the qualifying round for Qatar 2022. One is against Jamaica, in the debut, on September 2 and the next is against Canada, on October 7. The Gold Cup games cannot be considered as it is a competition organized by Concacaf.
