The new collection of clothing that the Ecuadorian soccer team will wear in the Qatar 2022 World Cup was presented this Thursday, the main uniform retains yellow on the shirt and blue on shorts and socks, respectively.
In a colorful act held at the National Team House, the Marathon sports store presented the new sets of game and training uniforms, which the Tri will wear in their fourth World Cup event.
The main uniform maintains yellow on the shirt, accompanied by bright blue and red on the sides, while blue is imposed on shorts and socks.
“These are special designs, a job done with the heart for the national team”, he highlighted at the presentation of the new World Cup uniform.
The shirt is “a vibrant yellow”, with details in blue and red, with a fast front weave “that represents our people and the claw of our team”. The sleeves present details with the tricolor flag and the neck with a red stripe that “highlight the contrasts of our flag”.
On the inside it has the word Ecuador written in six languages, “six ways to get to know each other, but only one to feel Ecuadorian.”
For the alternate clothing, two designs were chosen. The second kit is with a blue shirt, accompanied by shorts and white socks, while for the third kit the color that predominates in the three game garments is white.
“We designed the shirt thinking that everyone wanted to wear it, that they enjoy it. We celebrate a new qualification for a World Cup and we want to be the pride of 18 million Ecuadorians,” said Francisco Egas, president of the Ecuadorian Football Federation.
“A special, symbolic moment brings us together, because that shirt with the three colors and the shield of our country represents dreams and illusions and will be the flag that we will carry around the world to show that with hard work, dedication and effort, the Ecuadorian is capable of achieve unthinkable things and that we are proposed to do it. This is the armor, the shirt of our team”, Egas pointed out.
Tributes to World Cup players
The act also included the recognition made to the tricolors with presence in two and three World Cups, the only case in the name of Édison Méndez.
The players present received a commemorative plaque, with the number they wore on the shirt of their respective World Cup and the phrase “World Cup legend” also delivered collectively to the players who were part of each of the different World Cup teams that marked their presence in the events held in Korea-Japan 2002, Germany 2006 and Brazil 2014.
