Sources: Man. City prepares $ 139 million offer for Harry Kane

Manchester City is preparing an offer of £ 100 million ($ 139 million) by Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kanesources told ESPN.

The 27-year-old Kane has informed Spurs of his desire to leave this summer, with City leading Manchester United and Chelsea in the race for his signing.

Sources both City and Tottenham have denied a formal offer was made on Monday afternoon.

But sources said City is preparing to test Spurs president Daniel Levy’s flexibility with an initial offer that could also include a proposal for a player plus cash.

Sources said Levy is sure to decline any offer at that level given that Kane is valued at around £ 150 millions and you have three years left on your current contract of £ 200,000 a week.

Kane has not made a written transfer request and sources said Levy is determined to keep him at the club for at least one more season, even though the player believes he has a gentlemen’s agreement to leave this summer.

Sources have told ESPN that at least one candidate interviewed for the vacant manager position at Spurs was told that Kane would not be sold before the start of next season.

Sources also said that at the Etihad Stadium they know it will be difficult to get Kane out of Tottenham this summer given his importance and his contractual situation.

While Guardiola is eager to add a forward to his squad, City are willing to wait a year if the right player is not available, as they did when they signed Rodri in 2019 and Ruben Dias in 2020.

There have been reports that Raheem Sterling could be one of the players who will tempt Tottenham to sell Kane this summer, but sources have told ESPN that the English extreme is not willing to be used as a bargaining chip in any agreement.

Kane recently admitted that the City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne It would be a “forward’s dream” to play with, but he has mostly put aside what is said about his future until the end of England’s participation in Euro 2020.
