André-Pierre Gignac is under investigation by the Attorney General’s Office for a possible erroneous information in his naturalization process
Due to a possible erroneous information in his naturalization process as a Mexican, the French André-Pierre Gignac is investigated by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
“The Tigres forward, André-Pierre Gignac, is being investigated by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) due to an anomaly in the information he submitted for his naturalization process as a Mexican“, published the newspaper Basketball court.
The player carried out the process to become a Mexican and, upon detecting that there was a flaw, the Prosecutor’s Office opened a folder to initiate the investigations and find out if the attacker of the felines acted or not with intent.
After arriving in the country in 2015, it was in 2019 when the player obtained his naturalization as a Mexican, but is now being investigated by the authorities of this country.
André-Pierre Gignac came to Mexico to reinforce Tigres that year and has had various achievements with the team, as he was champion in the Apertura 2015, Apertura 2016, Apertura 2017 and Clausura 2019 tournaments.
The Frenchman, who is the top scorer in the team’s history, also achieved a crown in the Concacaf Champions League with the cats, which allowed them to go to a Club World Cup.
Gignac is currently in the process of recovering from an injury and is expected to reappear with the team in this weekend’s match against León, within the activity of the 2021 Apertura Tournament.
