The Mexican National Team directed by Gerardo Martino will face Ecuador on October 27, in Charlotte, North Carolina
The Mexican soccer team reported that next Wednesday, October 27, they will face Ecuador in a friendly match to be held at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This match will be played between the tight schedule that Liga MX will have for those dates, since Matchday 15 is scheduled to end on October 25, while on the 28th of the same month the final of the Concacaf Champions League is agreed, in addition to the start of the sixteenth date of the Apertura 2021, which has Cruz Azul vs. America.
Both teams participated in the summer tournaments of their respective confederations. Ecuador was eliminated by Argentina in the quarterfinals of the Copa América, after falling 3-0; while Mexico lost 1-0 in the final of the Gold Cup against the United States.
‘Chicharito’ spoke about his wishes to wear the shirt of the Mexican National Team again and be in Qatar 2022.
Mexico and Ecuador have met 24 times, of which 16 have won the Tri, while three have been for the South Americans, in addition to five draws.
It will be the second time that Gerardo Martino’s team will face the Ecuadorians. El Tri del ‘Tata’ was measured against the Conmebol team on June 9, 2019, the day the Aztecs won 3-2, with scores from Jonathan dos Santos, Luis Montes and Luis Rodríguez.
The duel against Ecuador will be the fourth that the Mexican National Team faces in October. They will open that month with three commitments to the Concacaf qualifiers heading to Qatar 2022. On the 7th they will receive Canada at the Azteca Stadium, the same building where they will play against Honduras on the 10th. On the 13th they will visit El Salvador and finally on the 27th. The Conmebol team will be measured in a friendly duel.
