Jovic depends on the balances

Luka Jovic (24 years old) continues to rush the options that can make him leave Madrid to have minutes. After three seasons (actually two and a half, since he had a loan to Eintracht), he has only been able to score three goals and play 1,560 minutes. The Serb has been actively looking for a team since before the end of last season. And the Fiorentina is the perfect glove that fits him. However, not to Madrid’s claims, as they want a ‘low cost’ loan.

As AS has learned, Fiorentina has asked for more time, until July 1, to resume talks with Real Madrid. You need, first, to close the balance sheets for this season (all clubs do it on June 30). Then you will be able to know the money you have to invest in Jovic.

The accounts for Real Madrid are clear. The player earns eight million euros gross per season and having him on loan supposes an amortization per year of 10 million euros (since Madrid paid 60 million for him in 2019 and signed for six years). At the moment, Fiorentina does not even come close to those figures. The salary should not be a problem, because in Madrid they assume that for the player to have minutes and revalue himself, he must take charge of part of the record. On the other hand, the formula in which the assignment will be made is also discussed. Madrid does not see with bad eyes a transfer with a mandatory purchase option, for a figure that is between 20-30 million euros, to definitively get rid of the footballer. For its part, Fiorentina prefers that the purchase option be optional, or that the transfer, at least, be for two seasons. In any case, and although Jovic wants to have everything resolved before July 8, when he must join Ancelotti, it will not be an operation that will be carried out soon.

The Madrid. Real Madrid has already decided that there will be no more signings for the first team except for those of Rüdiger and Tchouameni. The option of bringing in a young striker with a future who could be a substitute for Benzema would only be activated again if the circumstance arises that the three that there are now, Jovic himself, Mayoral and Mariano. But this situation seems almost impossible.

The one with the best market of the three is Mayoral, who returns to Madrid after two years on loan at Roma (and playing the last half of the season at Getafe). He is the preferred choice of Ancelotti who, as has been shown, does not have Mariano (he has only played 400 minutes this season to score a goal) or Jovic (the Serb has played 551 minutes to score a goal, too). Before them, the Italian even tested Asensio, Rodrygo and Isco in the nine position.
