Jovic activates his exit

Three goals in 49 games played for Madrid (but only participating 1,490 minutes, that is, 30 per game). That is the little background of Luka Jovic (24 years old) in three seasons in the white team. Some numbers alarming enough that your environment has reacted. The Clásico, in which Ancelotti once again turned his system around so as not to have the Serbian, served as a turning point. Now, Jovic definitively activates his departure from Real Madrid for next summer.

The Serbian has a contract with the white entity until 2025. He still has three exercises ahead of him, too many for a player as young as him to remain practically inactive season after season. In the team that handles the footballer’s affairs, they are also aware that the situation can only get worse, with the arrival of Mbappé almost assured and with a high percentage of possibilities that Haaland’s will occur. Madrid, for its part and after assuming that the operation for the Serbian, for which it paid 60 million euros to Eintracht, has been a failure, will gladly open the door when it shows its intention to leave next summer.

Jovic had no offers to change the scene last summer nor in the recent winter market they simply point to this newspaper from their environment, because it was not on the market. There was no rapprochement with Everton or Arsenal despite speculation. His agent, Fali Ramadani, did not answer any calls because he did not want to go out. In the summer, because Ancelotti had made it clear that he was counting on him. And in winter, because the sequence of games played by Jovic (Elche, Real and Inter) had given the forward hope of being able to count. But the Clásico, in which he did not even jump onto the field, brought him back to his sad reality.

The people closest to Jovic assure that the player tries to rebel against his situation in each training session, but that perhaps his cold character does not allow him to transmit the effort he makes. It is, therefore, a footballer who needs to continue competing, feel with the confidence of the coach, to be able to perform. Now it is his high salary, close to 4.5 million euros net per season, the biggest handicap he has to find a team. On the other hand, “Real Madrid has to get used to the idea that it will be very difficult for them to recover the investment made,” sources close to Jovic himself told AS.

So that the sale of Jovic does not have a negative impact on Real Madrid’s accounts, the white entity must sell him for 30 million euros. It cost 60 and signed for six seasons, then the club amortized ten million of what it paid in each of those six years, and only three have elapsed. In any case, it is not even ruled out that, in case of impossibility of sale, the white club will try, at least, to save a large part of his file through a transfer.

The player’s environment also accepts and respects that the fact that Jovic does not play is a matter exclusively of the coach’s taste, who has ended up trusting a small group of 16 players. Soccer players like Mariano, Ceballos, Vallejo or Isco are in the same case as the Serbian. But the 60 million that Madrid recently paid for him gave the striker hopes of being first on the list, for example, to replace Benzema when he is injured or rested. The Frenchman has missed eight games this season, and Jovic has only played 208 of those 750 possible minutes (there was an extension), and Ancelotti has tried up to four different solutions (Bale, Isco, Asensio and Rodrygo) before clearly betting on him.
