Goals rain in the ‘Metro’: this is how Junior beat Once Caldas

The era of Arturo Reyes in Atlético Junior began with goals, thanks to both Carmelo Valencia, before the first minute of play, in the match of the sixth date against Once Caldas (4-2).

An error by the Manizales team allowed the rojiblanco striker to finish off with his left leg and beat Gerardo Ortíz 12 seconds into the game. So far, the fastest goal in the BetPlay League 2021-II.

According to the Twitter account @ Data1924, specialized in statistics and Junior data, Carmelo’s goal equals Iván René Valenciano (12 sec) vs Santa Fe (08/27/95), as the fastest goal in the history of the shark team in Colombian football.

Once Caldas reacted and in the 34th minute equalized the game with a goal from Juan David Pérez, who took advantage of a communication and coordination error between Ditta and Pacheco, to define with class before the loss of Sebastián Viera.

However, the joy did not last long for the visit, since, three minutes later, Daniel Rosero put the rojiblancos ahead after capturing a rebound in the area in a corner kick.

In the second half, a new error by Junior gave Once Caldas the tie in the Metropolitano. Didier Moreno recovered and misdelivered a ball back, which did not reach its destination, Sebastián Viera. The ball had a short journey and was left to Juan David Pérez, who defined freely, between the legs of the shark goalkeeper.

However, as if it were a copy of the first half, Junior hit again and seven minutes after Once Caldas’ goal, he again put the lead on the scoreboard. Fredy Hinestroza pushed a ball from the left side with his chest and scored the third goal of the night.

Hinestroza repeated the dose and in the 76th minute he scored the shark’s fourth goal to close the score. The midfielder took a left foot from the ground and beat Ortíz for the second time. First double for Fredy with Junior’s jersey.
