Ferran Torres, City and LaLiga

These next few days we will live an exciting tension to see if Barça is or is not capable of registering Ferran Torres. I think that it is something that everyone wants except the Madridista, let’s say, ‘excessive’. The not so excessive feels, like the whole of the national fans, that a strong Barça is a common good. And now that Messi has left and a wonderful generation has emerged from La Masía, with Gavi, Abde and Nico on duty, and waiting for Pedri and Ansu Fati to heal once and for all, Barça could use a versatile forward, with a goal, capable of attacking from any of the cardinal points, as is Ferran Torres, of proven ability.

Ferran Torres, coincidentally, is doubly two-syllable like Ansu Fati, whose recovery would give Xavi (another two-syllable) great peace. The same as that of Pedri (one more), who we are all looking forward to seeing how he mixes with the Gavi, Nico, Abde and even Balde, who even if it were only for a two-syllable would deserve a better opportunity in the group. I’m even regretting that the club has decided, they tell me, to do without Demir. Perhaps it is that I miss those resounding bevels from my first Barça: Seguer, Biosca, Flotats, César, Manchón, Rodri, Gracia, Vergés, Kocsis, Czibor … Later Foncho, Rifé, Fusté, Rexach … And, of course, Sotil, Marcial, Cruyff and Neeskens.

Bisyllables apart (Some classic could claim the memory of another double, and great, Sagi Barba, from before the War) Ferran Torres represents a great incorporation for Barça, a good forward for infiltration and for the auction, already accredited in the Selection. A very reasonable objective in the current possibilities of Barça, so far from the Haaland or Mbappé (and hit the bisyllables!). Another thing will be that City and especially LaLiga agree, each one on their own, to the conditions proposed by Barça to extract an operation hammered into a process of entrapment (there is no better word) without precedent.
